Day 21 Wellness Action: Turn Off Electronics

Family is one of God’s most precious gifts and while a lot of the time we spend on electronics is done to take care of them, some of that time actually takes us away from them. Yes, you need your computer for work and you need to check your phone to ensure that you are able to attend to work emergencies, but sometimes you need to let go of the electronics.

Let’s face it, we work on our gadgets but we also spend a lot of time on social media. So today’s challenge is about letting go of social media for one day and focusing on family. You can do the following instead:

  • Play games (not on an electronic device)
  • Share a family meal at the table
  • Workout together
  • With your new found energy, you can even go outside and play together. Play and laughter is good for the soul
  • Or pick an activity that you and your family can enjoy

Day 21 Workout: Core and Cardio Intervals

Core and cardio, cardio and core – it’s a match made in heaven! For this essential workout, simply alternate 30-seconds of jumping rope with 30-seconds of the following five core exercises. Repeat twice to total 10-minutes.

1. V-sits/V-Up
2. Bent leg windscreen wipers
3. Plank jump jacks
4. Flutter kicks
5. Reverse crunches
