Similac PM 60/40 Recalled After Baby Dies

The FDA announced that another lot of formula made by Abbott Nutrition has been recalled after the powder was linked to the death of an infant. The baby passed away after testing positive for Cronobacter sakazakii after consuming Similac PM 60/40, which is a specialty product given to children who need a lower mineral intake. The recalled formula has lot code 27032K800 on the case and 27032K80 on the can. Cronobacter sakazaii infections cause symptoms like jaundice, grunting breaths, and a decrease in appetite. They are rare but very serious for infants.
