Moderna Requests Approval for its Children’s Vaccine

Moderna has asked the FDA to approve its COVID-19 vaccine specifically made for children aged 6 to 11. The drug has already been authorized for this age group in Australia and Canada. Pfizer’s vaccine for the same age group has been available for months, and it hasn’t done well. Only about 29% of children between the ages of 5 and 11 have received two doses. The company says its recent data suggests that the vaccine is 88% effective against severe disease.
