The CDC announced a confirmed listeria outbreak in packaged salads sold by the company Dole. Two people, one in Michigan and one in Wisconsin, have died after ingesting the food. 13 other people have been hospitalized in states across the country. All of the sick individuals are over the age of 50, and the majority are women. The CDC noted that more people likely became sick but recovered and never reported the instance. The recalled packages have the letters B, N, W, or Y on the upper right corner and have use-by dates between Nov. 30, 2021, and Jan. 9, 2022.
